Programs
ICATAP apprenticeships are designed to provide the academic portion of the training in a hybrid format online and via video. The Clinical portion surpasses programs in College and Technical Schools due to its full-time employment in the field during the year of training. Apprentices are engaged in the field for a range of 1400 - 2000 hours during the year of the program.
Medical Assistant
As a program graduate, the apprentice will be trained to perform clinical procedures and lab tests and develop the office skills needed for employment in a physician's office or clinic. ICATAP combines academics with skills development during 2000 hours of on-the-job performance. When the year is completed, the apprentice is eligible to take either the CCMA exam or the RMA exam for certification.
Technologist in Surgery
A surgical technologist works under the supervision of a surgeon to ensure that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists are an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients in a variety of settings. The Technologist in Surgery-Certified program at ICATAP will prepare the apprentice to enter this important healthcare field. Academic training combined with 1400-2000 hours of on-the-job training will prepare the candidate to take the NCCT exam for TS-C certification.
Registered Dental Assistant
The primary duties of both registered dental assistants are the same as those with a CDA. RDAs help dentists care for patients in the treatment room and through administrative tasks. ICATAP Academics and on-the-job training with a minimum of 700- 1000 hours are completed with the candidate taking the RDA exam, a national credential the American Medical Technologists issues that qualify an individual to work as a registered dental assistant.
