 ICATAP was developed because rural communities across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and many other states were facing a severe shortage of healthcare workers. ICATAP’s apprenticeship program offers a practical solution by training local individuals who are committed to serving their home communities.

ICATAP is closing the gaps by eliminating the barriers of cost, transportation, and time for potential apprentices while bringing committed individuals to the workforce.

ICATAP is also closing the gap for employers by solving staffing shortages, reducing labor costs (  by eliminating the need for travelers), and developing long-term talent from within.

A 98% board pass rate for Medical Assistant certification and a 100%  board pass rate for Surgical Technician illustrate the success of the healthcare partnerships with ICATAP.

Since our first pilot in 2020 in Hayward, WI, ICATAP programs occur in 10 clinic systems and 30+ locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
